The CD of the month: a trio

This time we have selected three new CDs as “The CD of the month”: “Masked Ball”, “Midnight Sun” and the CD “Spotlight”. Recorded by the Philharmonic Wind Orchestra, or March Reift Orchestra, under the personal direction of Mark Reift, these have been released just in time for the ball season. All of the works included are playable for intermediate wind orchestras and brass bands and are therefore a welcome addition to the upmarket entertainment literature.

The CD“Masked Ball” offers a fascinating sound experience that transports the listener to a musical masked ball. The careful selection of works from operetta and classical music demonstrates the versatility and skill of the orchestra and leads the listener through a creative program that combines historical and melodic highlights.

The CD “Midnight Sun” contains compositions in big band and party sound by Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Jirka Kadlec, Marc Reift and others. Also suitable for carnival and concert evenings where jazzy entertainment music is in demand.

The CD“Spotlight” contains a mixture of classical music, Viennese operetta tradition and modern dance music. All three CDs are only available as downloads. Sheet music is also available for all works and is linked accordingly.
