The Trachtenkapelle Brand has been organizing an annual festival since 1968, and has always invited brass bands from South Bohemia and cultivated friendly relations with the neighboring region of South Bohemia. In 2010, out of this tradition, the international brass music festival “The Bohemian Dream” – to promote exchange and networking of musicians from now all over Central Europe – was founded.
Also in 2023 the Trachtenkapelle Brand invites again to a special brass band event – from May 26 – 28, 2023 (Whitsun weekend) the “Bohemian Dream” will take place in the glass art village Brand-Nagelberg (Austria).
At this international brass music festival, spectators become participants – everyone who brings an instrument is invited to take an active part in the large-scale concert. This gives the festival its own unique character. As a small recognition there is a consumption voucher.
“We are certainly not the biggest, the best, or the most visited international brass music festival, but we claim to be the most family-friendly brass music event!”, says festival director Jürgen Uitz, who can again come up with some special features in this year’s program.
Under the patronage of brass music legend Ladislav Kubeš Jr., several brass bands and experts of their guild will audibly express that brass music has long ceased to live up to its reputation of being old-fashioned.
