Training – Information – Exchange
From 16 to 19 January 2020 the second International Brass Music Congress – IBK for short – will take place in Neu-Ulm. In the center of the four-day meeting Workshops are located for conductors with and without blowing orchestra, for musicians and musicians, for association and federation officials. In various instrumental workshops, professionals pass on their knowledge and invite active participation. There will also be reading sessions in which the latest literature will be presented with a wind orchestra and in the presence of many composers.
In addition to these information and participation events, a large exhibition with the most important and well-known instrument companies and publishers will take place.
The congress will be crowned by concerts with outstanding wind orchestras: the Training Music Corps of the German Armed Forces, the Federal Police Orchestra Munich, the Civica Filarmonica di Lugano (Switzerland), the Freiburg Wind Orchestra, the Koninklijke Muziekkapel van de Gidsen (Belgium) and the City Orchestra Friedrichshafen.
With the “Internationalen Blasmusik Kongress IBK” in Neu-Ulm all directions of the wind music come to the validity: Sinfonische wind music, entertaining wind music and traditional wind music. A clear emphasis lies however on the symphonic wind music.
The congress is organized by the company “IBK – Innovative Blasmusik Konzepte UG”. Behind it stand Alexandra Link (Kulturservice Link) and Miriam Tressel (art-music).
