German composer Roland Kreid died

The German composer and arranger Roland Kreid passed away on 22 May 2019. Born in Langenbach near Karlsruhe in 1953, Roland Kreid was already a member of the local music club at the age of 11. Due to his particularly good talent Roland Kreid joined the military music of the German Armed Forces where he received a well-founded training as a trumpeter from Prof. Zeyer.

From 1975 to 1983 Roland Kreid played in the Army Music Corps 9 in Stuttgart until he was transferred to the Air Force Music Corps 2 in Karlsruhe in 1983. As an autodidact, Roland Kreid also wrote arrangements for big band and combo. His brass music works have been published by various German music publishers.
