The small but fine music publishing house in Austria was founded in 1996 and specialises in the focus of traditional wind band instrumentation with flugelhorn and tenor horn stops. The publishing programme includes sheet music editions from solo and ensemble literature to symphonic wind orchestra.
Born in Schwarzach im Pongau (Austria) in 1974, Gerhard Hafner learned to play the trumpet and flugelhorn at the age of 8. From 1994 to 1998 he was a trumpet and flugelhorn player in the Salzburg Military Band. During this time he studied composition and ear training at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. At the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz, he received training in wind orchestra conducting and composition.
In 1996 he founded the “Gerhard-Hafner-Musikverlag”, where his own compositions and arrangements have been published ever since. His complete musical oeuvre can be found here.
To mark this anniversary, Gerhard Hafner is offering a 75% anniversary discount for orders placed in January 2021, provided the sheet music is ordered directly from his publishing house. Further information can be found here.
