In 2020, the city of Ettlingen will become a meeting place for young musicians: The youth wind musicians of the Bund Deutscher Blasmusikverbände e.V. (Association of German Wind Music Associations) invite youth wind orchestras as well as brass and percussion ensembles from home and abroad to the lively city in northern Baden. The “9. Internationale JugendKapellenTreffen (IJKT)” (9th International Young Band Meeting) is all about high-quality concerts and demanding competitions. Workshops, exhibitions and evening concerts round off the extensive programme and offer participants additional opportunities to look beyond their own horizons and, of course, to make lots of new friends.
The international meeting character is in the foreground of all events: By meeting young people of other nations, the opportunity for meeting and mutual exchange is consciously created – especially at the evening events #meet #beat. By establishing long-term contacts, the Wind Youth would like to contribute to the international development of wind music. Around 2,000 young musicians from all over Europe are expected to attend IJKT 2020 in Ettlingen, Germany.
