As reported by the “Kleine Zeitung”, Hans Koller – musician, composer, guesthouse owner and farmer – passed away last Friday, 24 December 2021, completely unexpectedly at the age of only 66.
“With Hans Koller, Austrian wind music loses an outstanding composer, gifted musician, but above all a unique human being.” With these words, the Austrian Wind Music Association expressed its sympathy at the death of Hans Koller, a musician from Kleinsölk who was known far beyond the borders of the Liezen district.
Many of his small and large wind music works can be found in the archives of wind orchestras. Hans Koller was also known for his collections of folk ensemble music for wind instruments. A list of his editions can be found here.
