Some time ago, the Dutch publisher Molenaar compiled a catalogue of 50 titles containing bestsellers for wind orchestra in the medium difficulty level (B and C). Among these successful works are eight compositions by the Austrian Michael Geisler. A special distinction for the Tyrolean.
Geisler learned to play the trumpet at the age of ten and joined the Bundesmusikkapelle Tux in 1992. In 1998, Michael Geisler joined the Vorarlberg military band. After training as a music sergeant, he transferred to the Military Music Tyrol in 2001, where he has been working as a register leader ever since. From 2006 to 2008 he completed the cable master training with General Music Director Edgar Seipenbusch, the long-time conductor of the symphony orchestra. From 2001 to 2009 Michael Geisler was Kapellmeister of the Bundesmusikkapelle Tux and has been Bezirkskapellmeister of the Zillertal music district since 2008.
The compositional work is scattered among several publishers. In addition to Molenaar, the main works are also published by the Tyrolis publishing house in Austria, as well as by Wertach and Carpe Diem (both in Germany). Titles can also be found in the Linz publishing house OrchestralArt. All works by Michael Geisler can be found here.
