From April 4-6, akustica – The Trade Fair for Music – took place in Nuremberg, Germany, an event that brought together music lovers, musicians and professionals from across the industry. The fair offered an impressive variety of musical instruments and accessories on four different levels.
The first three levels of the fair were dedicated to sheet music, stringed instruments, pianos and other keyboard instruments. The exhibitors presented both traditional and innovative models that would make the heart of any music enthusiast beat faster. The fourth level focused on brass and woodwind instruments.
But akustica was not just a showcase for instruments; accessories, materials, services and sheet music were also on offer in large numbers. Music schools, universities and associations in particular were on hand to provide visitors with valuable information and support for musicians and budding talents.

In the program item“Composers’ Meeting“, moderator Alexandra Link presented an illustrious panel of famous composers, including Thomas Asanger, Otto M. Schwarz, Andreas Ziegelbäck and Gerald Oswald from Austria, as well as international greats such as Nigel Clarke from Great Britain and Jacob de Haan from the Netherlands. Composers from Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg and South Tyrol were also represented, which led to a rich discussion about music and compositions. These expert discussions and presentations were not only informative, but also inspiring for all those present.
Concert offer for all
The musical offerings at akustica also included a wide range of concerts, which took place on various stages and were open to all trade fair visitors. These performances offered visitors the opportunity to experience talented musicians, ensembles and orchestras live and to hear the various instruments in action.
