Harpsichordist, organist and composer Raymond Schroyens died.

The former production manager of classic radio station BRT3, Raymond Schroyens, passed away on 13 July 2021. Schroyens was producer and production manager of the station from 1963 to 1993. He studied at the Lemmens Institute in Mechelen. At the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp he received a first prize in organ with Flor Peeters. Between 1958 and 1960 Raymond Schroyens was chapel master at St Alphonsus Church in Dearborn, Michigan (USA). Back in Belgium, he worked as a music teacher and choir director at Scheppers Institute (Mechelen) and St. Stanislas College (Berchem).

In the early 1960s, Schroyens devoted himself to playing the harpsichord. He performed as a soloist or in various ensembles. From 1970 until his retirement in 1993, Raymond Schroyens taught harpsichord at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, in combination with a teaching position at the Municipal Conservatory of Mechelen.
